  • Hercules at the West End

Our first day of our whole school trip to see Hercules: The Musical went brilliantly.

Despite the rain, and problems on the earlier trains, Years 2, 4 & 6 (and half of year R) had a brilliant time at Dury Lane theatre to see Hercules after learning all about it last term. We got back a little later, and a little wetter than planned but the trip was so joyous that that didn't seem to bother anyone. We even made some friends with commuters on the train:

"My fellow adult travellers (and I) were immersed in these bright, polite, kind and caring children.  Seats were swapped and a lovely boy then sat next to me and asked if I would play tic-tac-toe with him, which I had no idea what it was.  He asked me several times until I then said “oh, do you mean noughts and crosses” which several of the children replied “yes”!!  We then played several games of this, which also included the gentleman that was sitting across from us.

I was simply amazed at how they conducted themselves with respect and dignity and all looked after each other.  I think your school and the pupils that I have seen were wonderful.  I couldn’t let this opportunity pass without e-mailing you to say what an absolute pleasure it was to travel home with them yesterday evening."
